Introspection, Reflection, and Reaction

2021 was the year of introspection. Everyone huddled at home with their plants, their pets, and their families for a long time. Some people lost work. Some people switched to working fully remote. Some of us found ourselves.

A few months into the pandemic, I rediscovered my love for music composition. And that bug hit me hard. Every free moment was spent studying, experimenting, playing, and writing. I discovered there was indeed something there. Something worth pursuing. And so I did.

I've always dabbled in writing (this is not my first blog) and wanted to be an author when I was a kid. 10 years ago I thought by now I'd have written a novel. But I kind of didn't believe in myself or my abilities. A year later, I'm writing a book. You can read the first part of it right now. I realized I've been working with the written word for a long time. And it was time to take that public.

And then of course there's game design. I mean, it's kind of my day job. Not for a AAA video game developer, but nevertheless, real, important game design. And then I discovered that I had something to offer, and I quickly garnered two clients with whom I'm consulting for their game development. And, as they keep telling me, it's been really helpful to them.

So, 2020 was a year of introspection. As the pandemic started to wane (well, kind of), that offered an opportunity for reflection. And as we round the bend of the second half of 2021, it's time for reaction. This website is now something more. I'm offering something more. I'm ready to make a difference in people's passion projects, because I truly believe I can. The website has been updated to reflect that.

If you're reading this, I can't wait to do something great with you.
